Manage and prioritize tasks related to areas such as user support, technical support, system maintenance, upgrades, further and new development, and always strive to ensure a stable, secure, and efficient IT environment.

• Independently identify needs, prioritize among needs, raise and plan so that the right needs are met with existing resources and do not clash with other commitments and plans.

• Identify and analyze new needs and areas for improvement both for clients and internally.

• Monitor the health and performance of IT systems.

• Ensure that servers, networks, and workstations function optimally.

• Patching, updating, and managing systems according to security standards.

• Manage backups and recovery in case of incidents.

• Implement and follow IT security routines and policies.

• Document and follow up on recurring issues to improve the IT environment.

• Confidently address clients in all conceivable situations and convey calm even when the error is unclear and is in an area outside of your expertise.

• Start troubleshooting without support from the team.

• Actively support colleagues via digital channels and take responsibility for your own skills and lack of skills by providing clear, encouraging responses and asking when unclear. Better to ask once more. Be part of a team.

• Follow routines and ensure that you understand them. If routines are missing, you should independently want to create them and ensure they are available to other clients if needed.

In addition to the basic requirements for the role, a senior technician focused on Windows must have both deep specialist expertise in the field and a breadth that covers several related technical domains. The role also requires curiosity, learning, and an interest in exploring new technologies and security solutions.

A senior technician should:

• Have a genuine interest in learning more about hardware, hardening, and cryptographic solutions.
• Possess basic competence in related areas, such as:
• Networking
• Monitoring
• Backup
• Scripting
• Certificate management
• Log management
• Docker
• Linux
• Software such as Citrix, HP Device Manager, Splunk, WithSecure, Safend.

When it comes to Windows, deep technical competence is required in:

• Group Policy Objects (GPO)
• Active Directory (AD)
• DHCP, DNS, and Certificate Authority (CA)
• Office 2016 and newer versions
• Windows 10 and later, as well as Windows Server 2016 and later
• Microsoft Exchange
• VMware (ESXi, vSphere, vCenter)
• PowerShell
• Windows Defender
