UX Designer at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is expanding – we are building new facilities, renovating, and adding to our existing structures, and we are now looking for more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transport.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As a UX Designer, you will be part of a systems development team alongside other roles such as Requirements Analyst, Tester, System Architect, and System Developer. The team's common goal is to create solutions that meet the needs of the business and end users within the given assignment.
Below are some examples of what is included in the daily work of a UX Designer:
- Conducting interviews, observations, or usability evaluations with end users and experts
- Driving the design work within the development team and collaborating with other UX designers in different teams to create a cohesive feel in our solutions
- Working closely with colleagues in the team to create the best possible solution together
- Utilizing the potential of design while adhering to business regulations, such as legal or security requirements, and determining what is technically feasible
- Driving follow-up on end users' experiences of the solutions the team manages
- Participating in the team's Scrum meetings and agile work
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who works well with others but also takes responsibility for their tasks and can structure their work to drive processes forward. You have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Furthermore, you take initiative, work towards goals, and focus on results.

We are looking for someone who has:
- a university degree in a relevant field, such as cognitive science, computer science, or similar, or other education combined with experience deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
- several years of experience working as a UX Designer
- experience in identifying target groups, as well as understanding and analyzing their needs
- experience working with reference groups consisting of end users and experts to gain an understanding of the current state of processes, working methods, needs, and experiences
- experience in developing conceptual designs that adhere to requirements, such as IT architecture, legal or security requirements
- experience in creating sketches and/or prototypes and collaboratively shaping detailed designs
- experience in methodically evaluating concepts and solutions, through, for example, usability testing with end users and experts to refine or discard
- the ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
- knowledge of methods and tools for conducting user research
- knowledge of interaction design and global design patterns
It is a merit if you have:
- experience working in FIGMA
- experience working in a development team
- experience working in the public sector
- experience working with design in existing digital solutions as well as developing new ones
- knowledge of accessibility according to WCAG
- knowledge of globally established design processes and how they are integrated into an agile working method
OTHER
We have high demands on our employees' security and confidentiality awareness. To work with us, you need to undergo a security clearance in accordance with the Security Protection Act. The position is classified in a security class, and a security clearance interview with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. During the security clearance, you will be investigated as a person, your background, and your relationships from a security perspective.
