Prolympia is Sweden's leading sports school at the primary school level. The school is independent and focuses on knowledge, safety, sports, and health – we are now looking for a new colleague who can contribute to our operations. The school is centrally located near sports arenas, Vätterstranden, and the Rosenlund area. We have 500 students from grades 2-9, and approximately 70 employees.

Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

Your responsibilities include teaching sports for grades 7-9 and being the sports coordinator at the school. As the sports coordinator, you will be part of a network with sports coordinators from our five other schools in Prolympia SYD.

The role of the sports coordinator is a lead teacher position where you will play an important role in school development work at both the school and organizational level, primarily related to sports and special sports but also from a general didactic development perspective.

Together with the principal and colleagues, you as a lead teacher will analyze and follow up on quality development related to teaching. The role also includes keeping up with educational research and disseminating knowledge. You will lead and be active in collegial discussions to challenge and support your colleagues in their assignments.

In your role, you are expected to:

• Be well acquainted with the school's statutory mission according to the curriculum and school law.
• Have the ability to work systematically with development and improvement.
• Be responsible for ensuring that the sports concept is followed and developed at the school.
• Be responsible for establishing and implementing the school's marketing plan together with the school management.
• Be comfortable representing Prolympia and its concept both externally and internally.
• Coordinate the school's local subject group in sports and health to develop teaching in the subject.
• Be well acquainted with both elite and recreational sports and their implications for students.
• Be responsible for creating new partnerships with sports clubs and maintaining existing ones.
• Lead and develop the network with our special sports coaches.

About the Position

We are looking for a qualified teacher in Sports & Health for grades 7-9 who meets the requirements set by the Swedish National Agency for Education for lead teachers.

To be eligible to apply for the lead teacher position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Have a teaching license issued by the Swedish National Agency for Education no later than the day you become a lead teacher.
• Can document at least four years of well-regarded teaching experience within one or more positions in the education sector. This requirement can also be considered fulfilled if the teaching has occurred as unqualified, in after-school care, or part-time.
• Have demonstrated a particularly good ability to improve students' academic results and have a strong interest in developing teaching.
• Be assessed by the employer as particularly qualified for teaching and tasks related to teaching.

It is an advantage for the position if you have expertise in elite and recreational sports and their connection to children's and youth's development in sports and health. If you have experience and contacts within the local sports community, we view this positively.

Our recruitment process for the sports coordinator and lead teacher includes an interview with the employer.

The position is 100%, of which 30% consists of work as a sports coordinator. We apply a 6-month probationary period.
