Support Assistant at LSS Residence Sjöviken

The LSS residence Sjöviken is located in central Strängnäs, near the water. The residence consists of five apartments and a common area for social interaction. The workgroup consists of six employees, and here you have good opportunities to design stimulating leisure activities together with colleagues based on each user's needs and conditions.

We are now looking for a support assistant to join our team!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The work as a support assistant is based on individual implementation plans and job descriptions with the goal that the user should have the opportunity for a meaningful life and feel involved in their daily life. The work includes mapping skills and support areas to find the right adaptations based on the users' needs.

In your work, you will follow the users in their daily lives and support them in everything related to managing their home, cooking, care, shopping, and relationships with relatives. No day is the same; the tasks are varied, and in the group home, there are users with a great interest in movement and activity, so you will support many leisure activities.

You will work according to a schedule with varying working hours, such as days, evenings, weekends, and sleeping on-call.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has/is:

• trained as a care assistant with a focus on disabilities, child care, or has another equivalent education.
• experience in social documentation.
• driving license (B).
• swimming skills.
• good computer skills.
• good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

It is highly meritorious if you have previous experience of similar work and/or knowledge of the target group. It is also advantageous if you have knowledge of sign language and AAC.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability and interest in working with the target group. You are attentive and should be able to adapt your approach, support, and service based on the user's needs. You are a cheerful person with pedagogical ability and good patience. You also have an interest in being physically active and moving around. The work requires a high level of commitment, personal responsibility, and creativity.
