What will you be working on?

We are looking for someone who can work with indicator-based national monitoring, based on population surveys, policy documents, register data, and other grounds, with a particular focus on the national action plan for equal rights and opportunities for LGBTQI individuals.

You will also work with goals and sub-goals linked to national strategies and action plans for LGBTQI, HIV/STI, and SRHR.

In addition to these tasks, other general tasks for investigators at the agency may also occur.

Who are we looking for?

Requirements for the position:

  • Master's degree in public health, sociology, political science, gender studies, or equivalent, as well as good knowledge and experience in working with national monitoring/national monitoring systems.

  • Experience in process management, change management, or other development work.

  • PhD in public health, sociology, political science, gender studies, or equivalent.
  • Documented experience in working with indicator-based monitoring.
  • Documented experience in processing and analyzing data, such as register data and document analyses.
  • Documented knowledge and/or experience in the field of LGBTQI, particularly in the form of monitoring.
  • Work experience in investigative work within the state.

Importance is placed on:

  • Knowledge and/or experience in working with LGBTQI, gender equality, HIV/STI, and SRHR from a knowledge-based and/or rights-based perspective.
  • Experience in working with knowledge production in LGBTQI, gender equality, HIV/STI, and SRHR, with a particular emphasis on LGBTQI.

What does the unit do?

The unit for sexual health and HIV prevention works with HIV/STI, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), LGBTQI, and gender equality. Our methods include knowledge production, knowledge dissemination, coordination, and monitoring. More specifically, the unit is responsible for national coordination in LGBTQI, HIV/STI, and SRHR. The work is based on the national action plan for equal rights and opportunities for LGBTQI individuals, the national HIV strategy, and the national SRHR strategy with subsequent action plan. The unit also works to support systematic development work on gender equality and LGBTQI within the agency's various assignments.

The unit also participates in the distribution of state grants to organizations working with HIV prevention and to those promoting health and rights among people living with HIV. Tasks related to men's violence against women are also included in the unit's work.

About the employment

You will be employed as an investigator based at our office in Solna or Östersund. The position is a fixed-term full-time employment until December 31, 2026. Start date as soon as possible by agreement.

As an employee of the Public Health Agency of Sweden, you may be subject to military placement. Certain positions are classified where Swedish citizenship may be a requirement. Security clearance will then be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

At the agency, there may be an opportunity to enter into an agreement for remote work of up to 40 percent of your working time.
