Meal Developer/Nutrition Strategist

The meal service in Lindesberg municipality is responsible for meals in preschools, primary schools, high schools, and care services. The operation has about 70 employees and runs activities in 23 kitchens. We create meals that make a difference and work to ensure that children, youth, and the elderly have a positive experience and attitude towards the significance of meals for health and the environment. We want our meals served in the municipality's kitchens and dining areas to be a moment for our guests to look forward to!

The meal unit is now looking for someone who wants to work with the development of our public meals and help us become even better! The role of meal developer/nutrition strategist is a newly established position in the management organization of the Meal Unit and will involve comprehensive work with dietary and meal issues, both internally and externally, as well as supporting the meal service units with advice, tools, and strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of meal developer is a multifaceted role with several different focuses, which means that the everyday work is dynamic and developmental. As a meal developer, a strategic perspective is included, which involves planning, leading, and coordinating projects within the meal unit. The meal developer, together with the Head of Nutrition and other managers in the meal unit, is an important function for driving change and development forward, as well as for follow-ups and analyses of the meal unit's goals.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with the Head of Nutrition, kitchen managers, employees, and meal guests to support, inspire, and develop our municipal meal service and drive collaboration on focus issues within nutrition. As a meal developer/nutrition strategist, you will be part of the management team of the meal organization along with the Head of Nutrition and kitchen managers.

In addition to the more strategic tasks in the position, the following tasks are also included:

• Collaborate with internal and external actors, such as other departments within the municipality and external suppliers.
• Educate and support employees during change processes.
• Monitor the external environment and draw conclusions and propose any changes/improvements.
• Create and lead the work with functional and sustainable large kitchens that meet future demands for food safety, sustainability, and efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with an academic background in nutrition science or food economics, or other comparable education and experience that the employer deems relevant for the position.

You have several years of experience in meal services and working with dietary issues, where experience at a strategic level is an advantage. You enjoy working independently and in a structured manner with a focus on development, but since the role involves close collaboration with colleagues within the Meal Unit and in adjacent departments, teamwork skills are a key competence.

You have excellent communication skills in both spoken and written form and are service-oriented in your dialogue as a representative of the organization. You are attentive, flexible, and contribute a broad perspective. Experience from public procurement and dietary software is an advantage. A B driver's license is a requirement. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
