At Jakobsgårdskolan, we actively work for participation, a good working environment, gender equality, and diversity. We are expanding and currently have over 130 students from grades 1 to 9 and an after-school program with about 40 students. We are organized into six units under the same roof. Teachers and teaching assistants work in teams around each student group with a connection to a larger work team. We also have a student health team consisting of a school nurse, special education teachers, special pedagogues, and a counselor.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher, your task is to teach students in the Adapted Primary School. You plan and implement teaching based on each student's abilities, create good conditions for learning, and stimulate and challenge students' development and learning. As a pedagogue in the Adapted Primary School, you, together with your teaching assistants and colleagues, are responsible for providing students with the educational and social support they need. This may mean that you also perform tasks typically assigned to a teaching assistant. You are flexible. You conduct development talks and participate in network meetings regarding the student and collaborate with guardians.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a certified teacher with experience working from a low-arousal approach. Excellent verbal and written skills in Swedish are required.

Meritorious:

• trained preschool teacher or special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities. You are familiar with and follow the municipal and national governing documents. You understand child development in early ages.
• work experience with students within the target group of the Adapted Primary School and are passionate about the mission.
• experience working with students with neuropsychiatric disabilities.
• knowledge of alternative communication (AAC), sign language support, visual aids, digital communication tools, and knowledge of clarifying pedagogy.
• good competence in handling digital tools.
• experience with ICDP (Guiding Interaction).

We are looking for someone who is a good team player, works in a structured manner, is flexible, and has good collaboration skills. You see each individual student and are attentive to what the children want to convey, and you are skilled at building relationships with both students and colleagues as well as guardians. You have a positive attitude in challenging situations, remain calm, and are good at finding solutions. You communicate clearly and possess a good empathetic ability where you create engagement and participate in children's play and development. You have a big heart for the student category that has the right to the Adapted Primary School.

OTHER

During the interview, you as a candidate need to present proof of citizenship in Sweden/EU/EES or a valid work residence permit.
