Community Building Unit

The Community Building Unit consists of 23 employees who work with planning and infrastructure issues, cultural heritage issues, climate issues, GIS coordination, and processing various support.

Job Responsibilities

In the Community Building Unit, you will be part of the team that primarily works with planning issues. In addition, you will have a very close collaboration with the operational support unit where appealed permits and preliminary decisions are processed by our county lawyers.

You will primarily work with appealed permits and preliminary decisions and building supervision guidance. In the area of appealed permits and preliminary decisions, you will assist our county lawyers in reviewing cases such as calculating building heights and building areas, adapting to the conditions of the plot, as well as urban and landscape images, accessibility, and technical property requirements. Furthermore, you will work with building supervision guidance where you will provide advice and support to building committees regarding supervision and follow up and evaluate the committees' application of the Planning and Building Act, including regulations. You will also process consultation cases regarding measures for total defense according to Chapter 9, Section 15 of the Planning and Building Act. Other tasks within the employer's area of activity may also be relevant, such as processing referrals from the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning and the Government, etc.

Your responsibilities also include developing working and collaboration methods both internally and with other county administrative boards and authorities. The work involves conducting site visits for certain incoming cases.

Qualifications

You should have an education as an architect, construction engineer, or another education that we consider equivalent. This position requires that you have several years of experience working with building permit processing and/or building supervision in a municipality or that you have several years of experience with similar tasks in a county administrative board. It is a requirement that you have good knowledge of planning and building legislation.

A B driver's license is required for this position. The work requires the ability to express oneself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. It is an advantage if you have experience working with measurement and drawing programs.

To succeed in the job, you must be able to independently plan and structure your work based on set goals. You should have an easy time establishing contacts and creating good relationships.
