The specialized medicine area 2 in Helsingborg includes infectious medicine, pulmonary medicine, gastroenterology, diagnostic center, neurology and stroke care, as well as rheumatology. The section for pulmonary medicine and allergy includes consultation services, outpatient services, and a care ward shared with gastroenterology, totaling 21 beds. Helsingborg Hospital has a very good collaborative climate, and we have close cooperation with other medical specialties. There are intermediate care units (IMA), intensive care units (IVA), and emergency care units.

Currently, the pulmonary section employs specialists in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine, as well as a specialist in oncology focused on lung cancer. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In a newly established collaboration with Skåne University Hospital (Sus), we want to invest in the training of residents in pulmonary medicine!

We are therefore looking for residents with an interest in pulmonary medicine and internal medicine. The first part of the residency will primarily focus on becoming a specialist in pulmonary medicine, but there is also the possibility of dual specialization in internal medicine, which is desirable. The structure of the residency will be determined in consultation with the medical unit manager, supervisor, and regional study director at Sus.

Your first months of residency will focus on learning the diagnostics and treatment of acute internal medicine conditions. As a resident, part of your training will be allocated to the emergency department, mainly for on-call hours. Part of the residency training will also be allocated to pulmonary medicine at Sus.

If you already have ongoing research projects or research ambitions, it is very possible to combine clinical residency with research.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Experience in internal medicine and emergency medicine is desirable. If you are already a specialist in internal medicine with a particular interest in pulmonary medicine, that is especially meritorious. For the position, proficiency in Swedish is required at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s language scale.
