Service Department

The department works with e-services, develops travel documents and service cards, provides public documents, register extracts, and handles weapon cases. The authority's information management, administrative matters, and national telephone exchange are also included.

Information Management Unit

The Information Management Unit is responsible for functions and activities that center around information and whose goal is to manage all operational information that arises within the authority effectively.

The position of confidentiality officer is located at the Information Management Unit, in the Archive Section. The section consists of six groups that together are responsible for registering and managing a large part of the requests for public documents that come to the Swedish Police Authority. The section's groups are geographically placed across large parts of the country, from Luleå in the north to Malmö in the south.

Job Description

The work as a confidentiality officer mainly consists of receiving and managing requests for the release of public documents. The job includes performing confidentiality assessments and deciding whether the requested document can be released. You will apply a relatively complicated set of regulations with associated urgency requirements. High demands are placed on the quality of the assessments performed and working towards uniform assessments between different requests.

The assignment mainly involves civil servant assessments, and the work is carried out in close collaboration with other confidentiality officers. Other tasks related to the archive section's mission may also be included in your duties.

The role involves, in addition to contacts with applicants, a lot of internal contacts within the entire Swedish Police Authority. Collaboration and cooperation are therefore an important part of the work.

Qualifications

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • Post-secondary education in law, archives, or equivalent that the employer deems relevant
  • Experience in public authority operations
  • Work experience that the employer deems relevant for the position
  • Good computer skills and the ability to familiarize yourself with new systems, preferably in the Office suite or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of Swedish
  • Swedish citizenship

It is advantageous if you also have:

  • Experience working with confidentiality assessments and processing cases according to the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act
  • Experience working within the police or the justice system in general that is deemed relevant to the function
  • Good competence and experience in handling and making decisions in matters at a public authority or other public administration

Personal Qualities

To succeed in the role of confidentiality officer, you should be analytical, responsible, and meticulous. You are keen to provide good service and achieve high quality in your cases while handling matters promptly. Furthermore, you are a solution-focused person who can work both independently and in a team.
