JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As the animal park manager, you are development-oriented and motivated to turn ideas into action. You are responsible for the entire experience in and around the city's facilities. The team has a varied everyday life and works together towards the same results; healthy animals, well-maintained pastures, and animal enclosures that provide great experiences for citizens and tourists.

The city has various enclosures with pastures where the goal is to preserve the value of nature.

As the animal park manager, your responsibilities include organizing and planning for:

• ensuring animal welfare and that the animal park complies with the laws and regulations governing the operations
• handling and reporting to the Swedish Board of Agriculture, ensuring that animals receive relevant veterinary care and liaising with other authorities
• guiding and mentoring students/interns of various kinds
• environmental enrichment, animal documentation, and repair and maintenance of the animal park's enclosures and buildings

The position also involves maintenance in and around the facilities, as well as meeting and engaging visitors.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Animal care education at the high school level or equivalent education that we assess as relevant
• Driving license B and experience driving with animal transport
• Physical work that requires many heavy lifts
• Ability to speak and write Swedish fluently
• Ability to understand and speak English
• Driving license B96 / BE
• D9 authorization (meritorious)
• Basic veterinary knowledge for animals (meritorious)
• Brushcutter training (meritorious)

To succeed in this role, you need to take responsibility for both your own and the group's tasks. You are meticulous and ensure that work is performed correctly with high quality.

You are a skilled communicator and have experience being the face of the organization, for example, in contact with authorities and in other contexts. You adapt your communication to the recipient and promote dialogue, participation, and engagement. You remain calm and secure in pressured situations and can make well-founded decisions even under time pressure.

Flexibility - can handle changes and new challenges with a positive and solution-oriented approach.
