Operational Buyer with Negotiation Responsibility

Do you have experience in operational purchasing and a sharp ability to handle negotiations? Do you also have a background in grocery retail or a close connection to the food industry? Then this could be the assignment for you.

About the role

As an Operational Buyer, you will play a crucial role in the organization's purchasing processes. You will be responsible for the entire purchasing chain from item registration to supplier relationships and have a key role in driving negotiations with suppliers to ensure the best possible terms.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Negotiating contracts and prices with suppliers to optimize purchasing costs and delivery terms
  • Strategic and operational purchasing with a focus on inventory optimization and assortment development
  • Item registration and master data maintenance in ERP systems
  • Order management, order monitoring, and ongoing supplier contacts
  • Invoice management and ensuring correct payments
  • Collaborating closely with strategic buyers, warehouse, and finance department to maximize efficiency and cost savings

Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in operational purchasing, purchasing responsibility, or a similar role within grocery retail, the food industry, or wholesale
  • Documented experience in negotiation and supplier collaborations
  • Experience working with ERP and demand planning systems
  • Strong analytical skills and accustomed to optimizing processes and costs
  • High administrative ability and accustomed to working structured in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
