The Unit for Health and Civil Society at the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs works with policy areas that promote good living conditions in Sweden. The unit is responsible for issues related to public health, mental health and psychiatry, dental care, alcohol, narcotics, tobacco, doping, health protection, and infection control, civil society, sports, religious communities, and youth issues.
The group for infection control, health protection, and dental care consists of about 6-8 employees and is responsible for legislation in the field of infection control, vaccination programs, health protection issues, work against antibiotic resistance, preparedness for cross-border health threats, and the management of COVID-19. The group is also responsible for the governance of the Public Health Agency and the National Board of Health and Welfare (SBU).
The tasks are varied and include everything from analyzing and compiling materials for the government's positions on issues related to infection control and health threat preparedness, to ongoing tasks such as drafting bills, letters, and departmental communications. In this role, you will also contribute to budget-related work and work within the framework of the government's governance of agencies. You will also be involved in coordinating efforts related to infection control and health threat preparedness nationally and in collaboration with other EU countries.

Your background
You have completed an academic education in social sciences, law, natural sciences, or another relevant education that the employer assesses as equivalent, combined with experience in investigative work in the Government Offices. You also have experience working with issues related to infectious diseases. Additionally, you have knowledge of issues related to infection control and health threat preparedness. You need to have a good understanding of the demands of working in a politically governed organization and an understanding of the role and function of the Government Offices. It is advantageous if you have knowledge of epidemiology as well as knowledge of the organization, functionality, and working methods of the healthcare system and infection control.
Your qualities
As a person, you need to be able to work under time pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and take initiative. You are quality-conscious, judicious, and structured. You need to be able to quickly familiarize yourself with and analyze complex issues and make quick decisions. You should have good collaboration skills, and it is important that you thrive in an environment where your longer-term and strategic work is combined with quick requests with short lead times.

Temporary employment for approximately 6 months.
Location: Stockholm.
Start date as soon as possible or by agreement.
The position is classified in a security class, and a security clearance with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. You must be a Swedish citizen but may have a foreign background.
