The municipality of Gävle has a zero vision against violence, and the work against honor-related violence and oppression is one of several prioritized areas in the municipality. As part of the work against honor-related violence and oppression, projects with Shanazi Heroines in Gävle will be developed. The project targets young girls and will be based on the perspectives of girls and women. There is already an existing program with Shanazi Heroes aimed at young boys.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Do you want to work on a project based on equality, gender equality, and the right to a life free from violence and oppression? Then apply for the position of project manager for Shanazi Heroines in Gävle!
The project manager for Shanazi Heroines in Gävle will work in a role model project aimed at young girls in high school.
In your role, you will lead, educate, and empower young girls to encourage them to see, understand, and act by becoming Shanazi Heroines.
The Heroines will serve as positive role models and ambassadors for gender equality, human rights, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and democracy, thereby working against honor-related violence and oppression.
As a project manager, you will work together with the coordinator for Shanazi Heroes to lead and develop the activities with the groups that will become Shanazi Heroines. You will be introduced to and trained in the Shanazi Heroes method, which you will then shape and adapt to the Shanazi Heroines project. You will also receive both supervision time and support from an existing project organization.
In your work, you will plan, document, and follow up on the project. You will initiate new contacts and create trusting relationships. You will drive the work forward and report to the unit manager at the prevention unit as well as to the steering group and working group.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a higher education degree in social work, behavioral sciences, social sciences, or pedagogy, or another relevant field as assessed by the employer.
You have experience working with children and youth and knowledge of gender equality and honor-related violence and oppression. By having distanced yourself from such oppression, you have a good understanding of the vulnerability of girls and women and knowledge of how violence and oppression can manifest.
You are comfortable speaking in front of groups and can lead others. If you have previously led projects, groups, or activities, that is an advantage. You can express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish. If you speak Arabic, Somali, Dari, Kurdish, Turkish, or Tigrinya, that is an advantage for the position.
You are confident in giving presentations, lectures, and training, and you adapt these to the needs of the target group. You plan and organize your work, set goals, organize resources, follow up, and complete activities.
In social contexts, you take the initiative and create trusting relationships and have an unpretentious approach in your collaboration with others. You have an understanding of others' situations, listen, and show consideration.
Great importance is placed on personal suitability and your knowledge of and understanding of gender equality, democracy, and human rights.
You have an unpretentious approach in your collaboration with colleagues, citizens, and stakeholders.
