JOB DESCRIPTION

The work involves mother tongue instruction in the mother tongue Mandarin Chinese. In the role of mother tongue teacher, you will teach students in their mother tongue and actively contribute to the pedagogical development work within the subject.

You will be part of an engaged group of teachers where collegial learning is a natural part of the work. Together, we create a learning environment characterized by collaboration, reflection, and a shared responsibility to give students the best possible conditions for success.

You will belong to the Unit for Multilingualism, a unit consisting of both mother tongue teachers and study guides. Every Tuesday, we gather for joint meetings focused on collegial learning, where we together develop the quality of instruction in the mother tongue subject and deepen the work with effective study guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for YOU who have Chinese as your mother tongue and meet the requirements set by the Swedish National Agency for Education to teach in mother tongue. This means you have a teaching degree and at least 30 higher education credits in mother tongue Chinese. You have documented very good knowledge of Chinese both orally and in writing. If you have a pedagogical education from another country, it must be validated by the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR).

To succeed in the role, we see that you:

• Have good didactic skills in Chinese.
• Have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
• Have experience of teaching in Swedish schools and are well acquainted with the school's governing documents and work in line with the curriculum's goals and values.
• Are accustomed to documenting, following up, and evaluating teaching.
• Have good digital competence and use digital tools in a pedagogical and reflective way.
