At Linköping Youth Housing, you will work with young people aged 16–22 who are in a crucial transition phase towards a more independent life. We are looking for a social worker for a parental substitute position focused on providing the youth with the support and guidance they need to overcome their challenges and build a stable future. If you are passionate about supporting youth development and have experience in social work, then this is the right position for you!

As a social worker at Linköping Youth Housing, you will support the youth through individual planning and follow-up. You will work with young people who have psychosocial difficulties, such as neuropsychiatric diagnoses, mental health issues, trauma, and behavioral problems. Your mission is to create a supportive and structured plan for each young individual, aimed at strengthening their resources, developing positive networks, and providing them with tools to manage their life challenges.

In your daily work, you will provide practical support and guidance, such as through ADL training, assistance with schooling and employment, as well as individual conversations. You will be a contact person for several young people and work closely with them to create long-term changes in their lives. To ensure a holistic perspective on the support, you will collaborate with other community actors, such as schools, psychiatry, and authorities.

Your Workplace

Linköping Youth Housing is a supportive housing facility for young people with psychosocial issues, and we also provide housing support to youth and young adults. You will be part of our dedicated team, which consists of a manager, 7 social workers, and a night team with five treatment assistants. We also have a treatment assistant responsible for our studio activities. Together, we work to provide the best possible support for the youth. Linköping Youth Housing collaborates closely with Götgatan Youth Housing, allowing us to exchange experiences and develop our methods and practices together.

The work is both challenging and developing, and we place great importance on offering support and continuing education so that you can grow in your professional role. With us, you will also participate in a structured introduction program that helps you quickly acclimate to the work and our routines.

Your working hours are scheduled during the day, evenings, and weekends. During an eight-week period, you will work approximately two weekends.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or equivalent, such as a bachelor's degree in behavioral science with a focus on psychology, pedagogy, or sociology. You should have experience in psychosocial work with young people with neuropsychiatric diagnoses, mental health issues, trauma, and/or norm-breaking behavior.

We would like you to have experience with legislation such as SoL and LVU. Since the youth reflect society as a whole, we encourage multilingual applicants to apply, but it is not a requirement for the position. However, you need to have a good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish, as the work involves a lot of contact and documentation.

A valid driver's license is required as travel is part of the job.
