Who are we?

Uttersberg School is located in Krokek, a larger community in Kolmården. We have approximately 350 students from preschool to grade 3 and about 55 staff members along with two school leaders. We have a fantastic environment with proximity to swimming pools, libraries, artificial grass fields, and the Kolmården nature where we have access to two school forests. During winter, we are close to sledding hills and an ice rink. From Norrköping, there are good train and bus connections, with a bus/train every twenty minutes, and the station in Korkek is only a five-minute walk from the school.

We recognize the importance of developing as a school! In the autumn of 2022, the school had the opportunity to join the municipality's initiative "Collaboration for the Best School" and we are now concluding our final year with targeted efforts in various goal areas together with the education office. Students at Uttersberg School have a high level of goal achievement, but it is always exciting to find new ways for student success, which this initiative will lead to. We are also a training school and welcome many students both for primary school, after-school care, and student health, which allows us to gain new inspiring perspectives.

The next step in our development is to add the social pedagogical perspective to our four working teams. We currently have a social pedagogue working broadly, and we want that competence to also be present in direct connection with the student group.

Our school is divided into four grade teams where classroom teachers, after-school teachers, and student assistants collaborate for the students' entire school day. We also have a student health team with various professionals such as a counselor, school nurse, speech therapist, special teacher, special educator, and social pedagogue.

Your responsibilities

In this role, you will work both in the school and in the after-school care, which means you will work in after-school care both in the mornings and afternoons. Your task is to support and follow the students during the school day and in after-school care.

Your focus will be on preventive work where you develop adaptations and support related to social and interactive situations. You will work with both individual students and larger student groups.

You will be part of a working team for a grade where you contribute the social pedagogical perspective and your experience. As a special educator, you are a key person in the team to create a holistic approach for the students' entire day. In dialogue with guardians, you work to ensure that students succeed based on their conditions and abilities.

Furthermore, you will also have close collaboration with other social pedagogues at the school to work together to develop the best interventions for the students.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with at least a 2-year post-secondary education with a social pedagogical focus or another education that the employer considers equivalent. We view positively if you have experience working with children in need of special support.

As a person, you are attentive and have an easy time creating positive and trusting relationships with the people you meet. You have good pedagogical skills and are skilled at coaching and developing others in your field.

You are secure, stable, and take great responsibility for the processes you drive. Furthermore, we also see that you are creative and dare to think outside the box regarding working methods and approaches.

Since we work with children, we see that you have the ability to remain flexible to changes that may arise during the workday and prioritize your tasks as needed.

The position requires that you can communicate well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
