Prolympia Östersund is an independent primary school focused on sports and health, operating in the Norr district of central Östersund. The school started its operations in 2004 and currently has 466 students and 55 employees. Here, students receive a safe school experience with a focus on sports, health, and outdoor life. This means they have more sports and health in their schedule, and more outdoor days with overnight stays than in a traditional school.

About you

Prolympia in Östersund is now looking for a teacher in Math/Science/Technology.

You are a driven person with a positive attitude and share our values and fundamental view of sports as a tool to create good health and excellent academic results. You also have good communication skills, are clear in your leadership, and find it easy to collaborate. In your daily work, you have the ability to create trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You work with an inclusive approach, actively engaging in student influence, pedagogical planning, and formative assessment.

Job responsibilities

Your responsibilities include teaching the relevant subjects with associated planning and assessment. As a teacher at Prolympia, you independently plan your teaching but also collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects. In your assessments, you document students' progress and work with formative assessment. As a teacher, you also contribute to ensuring that daily life functions for students, including pedagogical lunches, supervision during breaks, and homework assistance. The expectations of the assignment follow the regulations and general advice from the Swedish National Agency for Education. Mentorship is included in the position.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a teaching degree and certification to teach students in the relevant subjects for grades 7-9. However, those with other suitable qualifications and experience for the role are also welcome to apply. Furthermore, you should have good IT skills and be accustomed to using digital tools in your daily work.

The position is full-time with a 6-month probationary period. For employment, a criminal record extract related to work in schools and preschools is required, and it must be less than one year old.
