Job Advertisement: Nurse for Ward 18
Ward 18 is a general psychiatric inpatient ward belonging to the Psychiatry Northwest clinic.
The ward's main focus is on depression, anxiety, and personality disorders, but we also care for patients with other psychiatric difficulties. We have 16 beds and accept patients aged 18 to 65. The ward is centrally located in Kungsholmen with good transport links.
On our ward, we place great emphasis on the work environment and patient safety. We have fun at work and operate in a flexible and solution-oriented team with a good atmosphere. We know that this creates a better environment for our patients. We combine this with a clear structure and daily routines to provide security for both staff and patients. Anna Björkdahl's Bergen model successfully forms the basis of our working method, where approach and low-arousal strategies are key to safe and meaningful inpatient care.
The ward has a positive and experienced staff group with good staffing of both nurses and nursing assistants. We actively work with professional development and implementation efforts. This is to develop and offer our patients the best possible care and to strengthen you and your development in your role as a nurse on a psychiatric ward. During your employment, you will be offered ongoing training, both mandatory and based on your own wishes.
The ward works with a Patient Forum where patients' opinions on care are taken into account every week. Many of our improvements are based on ideas and feedback from our patients. We work according to the model One Conversation a Day and also have the Calm Room, which with its relaxing and sensory-stimulating environment has become an obvious part of our patients' anxiety management and sleep prevention. In the autumn of 2023, the method of self-chosen admission (SI) was implemented in the ward, and in the autumn of 2024, we started a project where we offer our patients CBT-oriented conversations as part of the treatment. Patient participation in their care is an important part of our working method.
Job Responsibilities:
On the ward, we work in care teams consisting of nurses and nursing assistants where you, as a nurse, are the team leader. You have overall responsibility for psychiatric and somatic care. We use Take Care as our journal system.
Employment Type:
Permanent employment, full-time 38.15 hours/week. A 6-month probationary period may apply. Day and evening schedule. Weekend duty 2 out of 5 weekends.
Qualifications:
You have a Swedish nursing license and an interest in psychiatric care. You are a positive person who sees solutions instead of obstacles, is unpretentious, and has good collaboration skills. As a newly graduated nurse in this position, you will get a good start in your working life with safe and experienced colleagues, work in a good work environment, and be offered professional development. If you are an experienced nurse, you will be able to utilize your knowledge and work in a stimulating environment with competent colleagues. You are warmly welcome to apply regardless of whether you are newly graduated or have previous experience. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
