The Jämtland Gymnasium Federation is responsible for high school education, adapted high school education, and parts of adult education in our member municipalities. The federation's seven schools are located in nature and mountain-adjacent environments spread across five municipalities – Bräcke, Krokom, Ragunda, Åre, and Östersund.

Description

We are looking for an engaged vocational teacher for the Hotel and Tourism Program at Jämtlands Gymnasium Wargentin.

The position is a 100% temporary contract from August 11, 2025, to January 18, 2026, with the possibility of extension.

You will play an important role in preparing our students for professional life within the hotel, conference, and tourism industries, in close collaboration with colleagues and industry contacts.

Your Future Responsibilities

As a vocational teacher in the Hotel and Tourism Program, you will be responsible for teaching the program's core subjects, where you will convey professional skills related to service, hospitality, conferences, reception, events, and travel. The instruction is both theoretical and practical, and you will adapt it to the needs of the students and the demands of the industry.

You will be part of the program's team and work closely with colleagues to develop the education and create a holistic approach to the students' learning. Together, you will build a learning environment that is both inspiring and relevant to the profession – with the student and the future of the industry in focus.

Who Are You?

You are a qualified vocational teacher in hotel and tourism with a strong commitment to sharing your knowledge and professional experience with young people on their way to a future career. You are passionate about teaching and want to develop alongside both students and colleagues.

Experience in the hotel, conference, service, or tourism sectors is advantageous, as is previous work with high school-aged youth. We place great importance on personal suitability – especially your ability to build trusting relationships with students and contribute to a good and constructive collaboration within the team.

You have good knowledge of pedagogical documentation and assessment, and you use digital tools as a natural part of your teaching. With your positive attitude, flexibility, and ability to collaborate, you contribute to a safe, creative, and learning environment for both students and colleagues.
