About the position

As a nurse with us at the Health and Medical Care Unit (HSE), you will perform health and medical care interventions for patients with physical and mental disabilities according to LSS (the Act on Support and Service). You will carry out health and medical care assignments for individuals who receive special housing services, daily activities, and personal assistance.

We operate from our location on Tegelgatan and travel to our patients by bike or car, as well as walking to those who live closest. Since our patients are children, young people, and adults, we want you to enjoy working with all age groups. During the evenings, the assignments are primarily aimed at special housing services for children and youth.

A significant part of the role as a nurse is to independently conduct clinical assessments, perform health and medical care interventions, and guide and delegate to support staff to carry out health and medical care interventions. Therefore, it is important that you feel secure in your role as a nurse.

Examples of tasks:

• work as a nursing responsible nurse
• identify the need for health and medical care among patients based on the health and medical care process. Plan and implement measures and follow up on these
• conduct risk assessments and work preventively
• collaborate both internally and with external actors such as health centers, specialist care, and habilitation
• provide support, guide, and instruct in general nursing.
• delegate health and medical care interventions to support staff and maintain close cooperation with unit managers and staff in the field
• together with others involved in the patient's care and treatment, motivate patients to accept support and interventions/treatment

About the workplace

The Health and Medical Care Unit is based in premises at Tegelgatan 1-3 in central Örebro. We currently consist of 26 nurses, four nursing assistants, eight occupational therapists, one administrator, and two unit managers. We work in teams and support each other with the patient in focus. You will be welcomed by a friendly workgroup with lots of laughter and good support from each other who care about you integrating into the group.

The area of care and support is part of the Social Administration. The operations include care and support, preventive activities, authority exercise in the area, as well as housing placement and housing adaptation. Within the area of Care and Support, we work to support and help people who need care, support, or assistance in their daily lives. Our patients belong to the area of Functional Support.

Qualifications

As a nurse, you are confident in yourself and have good self-awareness. You enjoy having your own areas of responsibility and take responsibility for your tasks in an independent and structured manner. Being attentive and accommodating in your interactions, both with colleagues and patients, is a given for you. You are clear in your communication and have the ability to ensure that information is conveyed. Additionally, you easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities and solutions in what you are faced with. Furthermore, you master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with patients and other staff, as well as document what the operations require. Since the work involves digital documentation in operational systems, good computer skills are required.

Requirements:

• licensed nurse
• driver's license B for manual transmission

Meritorious:

• experience working as a nurse
• specialist education as a district nurse
• experience working in psychiatry
• experience working with children and youth
• experience working in operational systems such as Treserva, Lifecare, NPÖ, or Pascal
• competence or experience in the area of functional support
• knowledge of sign language
