Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Lead Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Lead the development and implementation of process automation and control systems across all business projects
- Act as the subject matter expert for all Control & Instrumentation (C&I) engineering aspects within the organization
- Report to the Head of Engineering and support the drive for standardization, optimization, and safety across the project portfolio
- Provide technical leadership and act as the escalation point and authority for project teams in the C&I discipline
- Ensure standardization of C&I systems and equipment across all sites
- Serve as the custodian for C&I standards and guidelines used throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborate with design managers to ensure team competency and define resource and authority levels
- Support the early development of new scopes and ensure effective handover to engineering contractors
- Act as the business owner for key third-party engineering contracts, overseeing performance and strategic alignment
- Execute tasks as assigned by the manager and fulfill all designated responsibilities
What you bring:
- A Master’s degree in Controls, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline
- PMP certification or equivalent (desirable)
- At least 8 years of relevant industry experience in steel manufacturing or heavy industrial processes
- Minimum 5 years in a senior Control & Instrumentation engineering role
- Proven experience delivering engineering projects in industrial plant environments
- Deep technical and process safety knowledge
- Strong understanding of European and Swedish engineering standards and regulations
- Broad expertise in SIS, DCS, PLCs, SCADA, field instrumentation, and communication networks
- Knowledge of fire detection, alarm systems, and site security systems (a plus)
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, control philosophies, and telecom specifications
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; able to manage multiple complex work streams simultaneously
- Proficiency in engineering software, digital tools, and project management systems
- Experience managing complex stakeholder interfaces, including EPCm contractors and technology providers
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; Swedish is a benefit
- Comfort working with data and using basic data management tools for reporting and updates
- A high level of integrity, the courage to challenge decisions when needed, and a strong commitment to safe and successful project execution
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and with external partners
