Staff Physician
Are you a driven physician with an interest in Defense Medicine? Do you want to be part of P 18 and the development of defense medicine moving forward? Gotland Regiment is currently seeking a staff physician for the logistics section. The position offers you a stimulating, varied, and developing job in an organization with a progressive and positive atmosphere.
About the Logistics Section
The logistics section is part of the regiment's staff support department and is tasked with developing, coordinating, and functionally leading logistics at the regiment within the sub-functions: Technical service, Supply management, Transport service, Defense medicine, and other logistics.
Main Responsibilities
As a staff physician at the regiment's staff, you are the highest functional representative and defense medical advisor to the unit commander. You are responsible for coordinating and developing the defense medical operations at the regiment. You serve as the contact with the strategic, operational, and tactical medical leadership within the armed forces and are also responsible for collaboration with civilian actors within the framework of total defense planning. You support the regiment's staff planning work regarding unit production and training activities. You work closely with the head of the logistics section, the staff nurse, and the staff veterinarian.
The position mainly involves staff work, but field service may occur (e.g., exercises). You are also expected to maintain your own clinical skills, meaning service in civilian healthcare is included in the position, corresponding to about 10%.
Qualifications
- Licensed physician with specialist training focused on general medicine or a similar field.
- At least two years of experience working within your specialty.
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
- Fully healthy and in good physical shape.
- Driver's license B.
Meritorious
- Experience in administration such as personnel planning, project management, etc.
- Completed basic soldier training* e.g., conscription or equivalent.
- Basic officer training* e.g., reserve officer training or equivalent.
- Experience in defense medicine.
- Previous military service abroad.
* Applicants without basic soldier training or officer training will need to complete such training. This involves training with pay for about 3-5 weeks and 10-12 months, respectively. Officer training takes place in Stockholm.

Other
Employment type: Permanent employment. Military employment full-time according to §20 of the officer ordinance. A 6-month probationary period applies.
The position involves placement in a security protection class and war placement.
The position requires conscription through the National Service and Assessment Agency.
Work location: Gotland Regiment, Tofta. Travel and evening/weekend work may occur in the position.
Start date: By agreement.
Other: Three hours of wellness per week and flexible hours and vacation agreements are included with the employment.

Gotland Regiment was re-established on January 1, 2018, to strengthen the Armed Forces' presence on the strategically important island. Since 2020, conscripts have been trained again at P 18, and the unit will gradually be added more capabilities until 2030.
