Welcome to become a part of Uppsala Municipality! Aren'tuna School is a secondary school for grades 7-9 located in Storvreta, just over ten kilometers north of Uppsala. The school has about 500 students and around 60 staff members. The school is close to the center of Storvreta, surrounded by nature and with a view of the Fyris River. Adjacent to the school are two sports halls and a nice artificial grass field.

Your Mission

As a special education teacher, you will help develop and refine the school's work to make education accessible for all students together with knowledgeable and experienced colleagues. You will help create conditions together with the student health team and the school's various professionals to achieve our goal that all students can succeed and feel successful. You are expected to provide support to teachers and students, primarily in groups but in some cases also individually. It also includes conducting assessments and providing guidance by being a knowledgeable and attentive advisor in educational matters.

Other tasks included in the position:

• have tasks in the school's small teaching group, a special support where students are given opportunities for learning
• support students with special needs
• mentor colleagues
• contribute to the development of the organization
• teaching in a full class is included in the position
• mentorship together with a colleague is included in the position.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with a teaching license and a special education degree. You have experience working in a special education group. The job requires that you have oral and written proficiency in Swedish.

If you have experience working with students with neuropsychiatric issues, it is considered an advantage. We prefer that you have good knowledge of the Swedish National Agency for Education's governing documents and curriculum. It is also advantageous if you have good knowledge of systems such as ProRenata and Unikum as well as good learning environments.

As a person, you are flexible and can see opportunities in changes. You have the ability to take a holistic view and see issues from a broader perspective. Furthermore, you are someone who takes initiative and starts activities to achieve results, as well as being pedagogical and understanding of people's different conditions for acquiring knowledge. The job suits you if you find it easy to collaborate and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner. Additionally, you are good at structuring, planning, and prioritizing your work.
