Analyst in Communication
Do you want to help analyze the future of communication? As an analyst with us, you will play a central role in collecting, processing, and analyzing information that affects everything from broadband expansion to international comparisons. Do you want to help create a clearer picture of the development in broadband, telecommunications, and digitization? Then this could be the role for you!
We work with what everyone takes for granted: the ability to communicate. With us, you will ensure that it works now and in the future. For everyone.
About the role
As an analyst in the unit, you will participate in or lead data collections and data processing to disseminate information about the electronic communication market. The reports produced by the unit have a wide range of applications, both outside of PTS and internally within the authority, and the collected data contributes to several of the authority's core processes such as regulation, spectrum allocation, and promotion. Your tasks will include the entire process of statistical collection, from needs assessment and question formulation to data processing, quality assurance, analysis, and report writing.
You will have contacts internally within the authority to ensure that data needs are captured and present the results of completed collections. Additionally, you will participate in projects driven by other departments within the authority where your role will be to provide the necessary data for the projects. The work also includes contacts with external actors, primarily operators, both for quality assurance purposes and to inform, explain, and anchor our collections.
About the team
The unit consists of a mixed group, with a balance between men and women and a range of ages. We have economists, geographers, political scientists, lawyers, and statisticians placed with us. We support each other and strive for all employees to have the opportunity to develop by working on various issues and ensuring the delivery of our operations.
About you
To thrive in the role, we see that you are collaborative and can express your own perspectives while listening to others. You actively share your knowledge and strive to find common solutions. By adapting presentations of quantitative data to the target audience, both in speech and writing, you ensure that the message is well received. Furthermore, you are solution-oriented and have the ability to prioritize your work independently, even when circumstances change. You maintain focus on delivery, make wise trade-offs between time, quality, and resources, and find ways forward even in more intensive work phases. For us, your personal qualities are important, which is why we will place great emphasis on these.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A degree in statistics, political science, economics, geography, or equivalent.
- Several years of experience in processing and analyzing data using SQL, R, Stata, or similar.
- Experience in investigative work and analysis.
- Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
It is also meritorious if you have:
- Experience working in public administration.
- Experience working with GIS programs (QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo, etc.).
- Experience in data collection and/or knowledge of national statistical production.
Our offer
We take life seriously. With us, you can have a life both on and off the job. If you feel good, we feel good. Therefore, we offer competitive salaries, flexible working hours, and the possibility of remote work. We also have generous wellness benefits and two wellness hours every week.
In addition, you will receive favorable conditions for lunch, vacation, parental leave, pension, and in case of illness. Here you will work in modern activity-based premises at Hälsingegatan 38. As a government authority, we offer a safe and stable working environment where you can feel secure. We are creating tomorrow's society and must stay at the forefront.
