The Gothenburg primary school administration is one of the largest school administrations in Sweden. We are responsible for the city's municipal schools from preschool class to grade nine, adapted primary school, culture school, and after-school care. The administration includes 138 municipal primary schools where nearly 47,000 students attend school every day. The entire administration has about 9,700 employees who work together to develop and take care of the operations - together we pave the way for the school of the future.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to help develop the after-school activities at Taubeskolan with us?

Taubeskolan is a relatively newly built F-6 school with five associated after-school departments. The school has about 350 students and over 35 employees.

We are looking for a new employee with education and qualifications to teach in after-school care. If you also have qualifications to teach home economics, that is an advantage. You will be part of a team with after-school leaders, teachers in after-school care, and primary school teachers. Together, you will develop a shared understanding of students' learning and how to meet their needs. You will have close collaboration where you together plan, implement, follow up, and develop teaching from a full-day perspective. At Taubeskolan, an important perspective in everyday life is to assume that everyone means well and everyone does their best.

The job responsibilities include regular tasks to create and develop a good after-school program (and possibly grade 6 students' knowledge in home economics depending on the applicant's qualifications) that inspires and challenges students in their knowledge, social, and personal development. As a licensed teacher in after-school care, you are responsible for the pedagogical planning for your after-school department. The work also takes place in close collaboration with others in our after-school operations. We also see that you have responsibility for the systematic quality work for after-school care in the department. Continuous professional development occurs at our pedagogical conferences for after-school staff.

During school hours, you support students in their knowledge development and act so that they feel safe in the learning environment. Support can be provided in various forms and is always based on the students' needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed teacher in after-school care and well acquainted with the governing documents of after-school care. We prefer that you have experience in the profession. If you also have qualifications in home economics, that is an advantage.

Personal qualifications that are important and valuable are that you are a safe and clear leader, that you have good collaboration skills, are flexible, and have trust in the knowledge and abilities of students and colleagues. We also consider being solution-oriented as essential, as well as valuing the team over the individual. We will particularly consider your qualities and experiences to ensure that you complement the team well.

A professional approach with clear communication, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to build and maintain good long-term relationships with students, guardians, colleagues, and school management is seen as a natural and important part of your work.
