Workplace Description
The research is led by Catharina Hagerling at the Faculty of Medicine and focuses on metastatic cancer. The ambition of the research is to identify new treatment strategies for patients with metastatic cancer.

Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility
Analyze spatial single-cell transcriptomics data from metastases. The work includes the following:
- Data formatting and curation: Standardize raw data formats and curate datasets to ensure compatibility and accuracy for analysis.
- Exclusion of specific areas/cells: Identify and exclude irrelevant or outlier data areas/cells to focus the analysis on meaningful insights.
- Data visualizations: Develop comprehensive visual representations of data analysis results to facilitate understanding and practical insights.
- Immunophenotyping: Conduct detailed profiling of immune cells in the tumor microenvironment to understand the interactions and effects of the immune system.
- Niche analysis: Investigate microenvironments to reveal niche-specific dynamics and effects.
- Cluster analysis and annotation: Perform cluster analysis to identify and comment on significant cell clusters and groupings in the data.
- Segmentation improvement: Enhance data segmentation methods as needed to refine data quality, if necessary.
- Culture cancer cells.
Qualifications
Requirements for the position are:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in bioinformatics, computer science, or biomedicine.
- Experience in bioinformatics and cell culture.
- Knowledge and experience in analyzing spatial single-cell transcriptomics data generated from the CosMx platform, Nanostring.
- Very good written and spoken English skills.
- Good ability to work independently.
- Good collaboration skills.
Desirable qualifications for the position include:
- Experience with CRISPR.
- Experience in cell culture.
About the Position
The position is a specific fixed-term employment at 100% with a start date of May 19, 2025, or by agreement, but no later than October 17, 2025.
