About the position

The Department of Line Technology has overall technical responsibility for the design, requirements specification, and development of Svenska kraftnät's overhead lines as well as sea and land cables.

The department is also home to Svenska kraftnät's specialists in EMF and grounding who work with both stations and lines. Design and requirements specification work towards the asset management goals of safe and cost-effective facilities with high availability and enable time- and cost-effective investment projects with a focus on personnel safety. The department provides specialist expertise and technical support to both management and project operations.

The department consists of two sections containing three units each, as well as two independent units. You will therefore be directly responsible for two section managers, two unit managers, and a smaller staff, reporting directly to the division manager.

As a department manager, you will drive the development of the department together with the department's management team based on the division's and agency's overall strategy and goals, as well as develop the department's role and function within the division and Svenska kraftnät. You will support and coach the section and unit managers in the development of their areas of operation, leadership, and culture.

Operational development and strategic work are important parts of the role as new working methods and a focus on lead time reduction and efficiency are required to manage the high growth rate.

The role also includes collaboration with external parties such as designers, contractors, and regional network owners.

About you

In the role of department manager, you need to be able to work results-oriented, explorative, and evaluative to achieve the goals set. You will also need to create and utilize various types of relationships, both internally and externally, to best support your department. We are in a high pace of change, which means you must be able to handle any sudden changes calmly and steadily. As a department manager, you are a cultural bearer and work for a good physical and psychosocial work environment. You will join open and pleasant operations where we are all responsible for building on the fine culture that already exists.

For the role of department manager, you need to have:

Mandatory requirements:

• Solid leadership experience.
• Documented management experience.
• Experience in leading other managers.
• Experience in the field of electrical engineering.
• Experience in successfully driving and implementing change initiatives and strategically developing an organization.
• You are communicative and express yourself well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

Desirable:

• Good experience in project work and/or construction within the subject area.
• Experience from network owners, suppliers, or contractor industries.
• Experience in leading technical requirements specification within the energy sector with a high focus on personnel safety, operational reliability, and life cycle cost.
