The Position and Responsibilities

As a teacher, you play an important role in contributing to Botkyrka municipality becoming Sweden's best school municipality, where students succeed in school and develop according to their unique abilities.

We are looking for someone who is used to working independently, flexibly, and with a focus on students' well-being. We appreciate those who take initiative and use their full expertise in interactions with students, guardians, and staff. You have a naturally respectful approach to people's differences and prioritize safe and good relationships. You are solution-oriented and have the ability to identify and create opportunities for change and development at the student, group, and organizational level. As a teacher in Broängsskolan's overarching special education group (KÖSU), you will be part of a team of 3 people: one teacher and two social pedagogues - an assistant principal and a special educator connected to the group. Broängsskolan's KÖSU spans grades 4-9 and has a total of 14 students. Our goal is to provide all our students with good self-esteem and effective tools and strategies to eventually return to mainstream classes. As a teacher in our KÖSU group, you will be responsible for students' knowledge development and organizing their school day. All students follow the national curriculum.

Responsibilities:

• Create trusting relationships
• Have good knowledge of the challenges of common diagnoses
• Teach students based on individual abilities
• Adapt teaching materials to create conditions for knowledge development
• Collaborate with students' home classroom teachers
• Map students' knowledge, document development, and collaborate with the school's special educators/teachers
• Organize students' school days
• Regular follow-ups with guardians, teachers, and students
• Participate in the school's guidance and the municipality's network for KÖSU
• Continue to drive and develop the school's KÖSU

Broängsskolan is a well-functioning and popular F - 9 school with about 630 students in Tumba, Botkyrka. We are part of a principal area together with Kassmyraskolan, which includes grades F - 6 and special primary school. Broängen is located in a scenic area close to good transport links, and the school has a very high proportion of well-educated and qualified staff.
