The FUB-gården Tallkrogen association, located in Björklinge, is looking for someone skilled in cooking and has experience in preparing meals for up to 30 portions per meal. The periods are from
June 7 - August 29, 2025.
About the organization:
Every summer, FUB-gården Tallkrogen organizes recreational weeks and camps in a nature-friendly environment for people with intellectual disabilities. During their stay, guests have the opportunity, with the help of other staff, to go on excursions, enjoy good food, participate in activities together, and relax.
What does the job entail?
As a cook, you will plan the menu based on our guests' wishes and needs. You will be responsible for calculating and ordering supplies for the week's meals. You will prepare the food and bake pastries and breakfast bread every day. Meals are the highlight of the day, so we require that the food is delicious, healthy, flavorful, and colorful.
Every day, breakfast is served with freshly baked bread. This is followed by lunch, coffee break, and dinner to conclude the day. A variety of salad options are offered with the meals. On the last evening, you will prepare a festive dinner.
You should have knowledge of food hygiene and various dietary restrictions. You will document everything in the organization's self-control program. As a cook, you are responsible for ensuring that meals are served on time, that the kitchen and certain other areas of the farm are cleaned, and that some laundry is done. We hire two cooks for each period and one kitchen assistant. The kitchen assistant cleans, does laundry, washes dishes, and performs simpler tasks in the kitchen.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is skilled and has previous experience in menu planning and cooking for about 30 people. You should have knowledge of dietary restrictions and be able to cook both vegetarian, meat, and fish dishes.
It is important that you are aware of hygiene regulations for kitchens and have experience with self-control programs and how they work.
There are some special dietary needs, and as a cook, it is important that you know which foods contain which allergens and what can be served as an alternative to the regular diet. In some cases, semi-finished products are accepted, mainly for dietary restrictions. Main dishes are primarily prepared from raw ingredients, not semi-finished products.
Of course, as a cook, you will also be able to eat the food prepared, and there is an opportunity to stay on the farm during the week. You will share a room with another staff member. Tallkrogen is located in a rural area with a lakeside view, just a few meters from Långsjön with crystal-clear water. When you are not working, you have the opportunity to swim, sauna, fish, or borrow a boat.
