Do you have several years of experience working in a kitchen and are looking for a new exciting challenge? Then we have the position for you! We are looking for two mobile meal assistants who will staff our various kitchens within Meal Service as needed. Does this sound interesting? Welcome to apply for this fun and varied position!

Meal Service is an operation within Uppsala Municipality and operates restaurants and kitchens in preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, senior restaurants, and residences within care and welfare services. We are now looking for two mobile meal assistants. In this position, you will have a fun and varied assignment with the entire Meal Service as your workplace. This includes work in preschool kitchens, larger and smaller school kitchens, and senior kitchens. You will start from a kitchen where you have your base, and based on staffing needs, you will be assigned your workplace for the day, which can vary from day to day.

Your Assignment

This assignment includes planning, preparing, and cooking our salad buffet according to Meal Service guidelines. It also includes planning and making purchases of food in our purchasing portal. Your tasks will also include preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks, as well as washing dishes and cleaning. We think sustainably and measure waste every day, which is reported digitally. The work also includes presenting the food in an appealing way when served to guests.

You are responsible for the operation's self-control program, either alone or together with your colleagues, and perform daily checks. Cash handling may occur in some workplaces.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with a high school diploma and training in kitchen and restaurant work. We would also like you to have HACCP training. To succeed and thrive in this role, it is important that you have several years of documented experience working in a kitchen. It is also important that you have knowledge of the ingredients in the food to be able to report them so that guests are guaranteed an allergy-safe and good meal.

Good knowledge of food hygiene is also a requirement. Experience in the service industry is an advantage. The work requires good oral and written skills in Swedish, good computer skills, and knowledge of Microsoft 365. If you have a B driver's license and knowledge of Mashie or other digital IT support for kitchens, it is a merit.

As a person, you find it easy to collaborate and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner. You are a service-oriented person who is calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions. Furthermore, you have the ability to see the big picture and can view issues from a broader perspective while being flexible according to the situation. Additionally, you are good at structuring, planning, and prioritizing your work.
