Sheet Metal Worker

Your Role

We are currently seeking sheet metal workers for our unique production of state-of-the-art submarines and surface vessels at one of the world's most modern shipyards.

In your role, you will work with new installations, maintenance, and repairs. We utilize a wide range of welding methods from MIG/MAG to TIG and robotic welding, which will put your skills and craftsmanship to the test. As a heavy sheet metal worker, you will encounter a variety of special steels for submarine manufacturing.

Your Profile

Requirements

• Experience in heavy sheet metal work and welding
• Experience in manufacturing and assembling steel structures
• Industrial technical high school education
• Good knowledge of reading blueprints
• Experience with welding methods 136, 141, and 111 in material thicknesses over 10 mm
• Computer literacy

Meritorious

• Welding licenses
• Experience in preheating materials
• Experience in gas burning
• Hot work
• Experience in arc gouging
• Previous work in material group 3
• Previous work in the shipbuilding industry or other heavy welding industries

The position requires that you undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in certain cases, involve requirements for specific citizenship.
