System Strategist at FMV

About the Position

As a System Strategist, you will play a central role in developing strategic documents in close collaboration with the Armed Forces and other parts of the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) within your area of expertise. You will be responsible for leading and coordinating tasks in the concept phase. Additionally, you will work on creating guiding conditions for the procurement tasks of the producing departments.

Part of the role also involves participating in international working groups, for example within NATO, where you will represent the department at a strategic level. Your area of responsibility will be adapted based on your experience and expertise, and you will become part of an advisory group that drives development forward. The work is both independent and collaborative, with broad contact areas within FMV, the Armed Forces, other authorities, and international actors.

The position is based in Stockholm. Travel may occur.

About You

We are looking for someone with an understanding of the development and function of systems within the information and communication systems area. You have an academic degree with a technical focus or equivalent competence. You have experience in leadership positions such as manager, product leader, chief engineer, or project manager and are accustomed to handling complex strategic issues. The role requires good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

It is advantageous if you have experience from the information and communication technology industry as well as work within the Armed Forces or the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV).

The command and control area contributes to all branches of defense being able to conduct their operations and reach their full potential, thereby contributing to a stronger defense.
