Welcome to Ektorps Adapted Primary School

In January 2024, Ektorps Adapted Primary School started as part of the Skuru-Duvnäs principal area. The school will gradually be built up with more students and staff. The school is for students with intellectual disabilities who study subjects or subject areas in grades 1-9. We offer after-school care in the same facilities and with the same staff as during the school day to create a safe environment for our students. Your Mission

As a teaching assistant, you will work with students attending an adapted school. You will be responsible for students with intellectual disabilities studying subjects or subject areas. You will collaborate closely with teachers and other teaching assistants. You will follow and support students in all teaching moments throughout the school day and in after-school activities in the afternoon. The teacher plans and creates teaching materials, but you will be involved in the implementation. Furthermore, you will assist with students' basic needs such as food and hygiene, and ensure students' safety, comfort, and development both socially and academically. You will also accompany students on outings and activities outside of school.

As a Substitute with Us

You need to be able to work at short notice, whether it’s part of a day, a full day, or for longer periods. You will support where needed based on the day's and period's requirements.

Your Experience

For this position, you must have:

• high school education
• good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

It is advantageous if you also have:

• good knowledge and experience in meeting children with intellectual disabilities and/or within adapted primary education
• knowledge of and experience in meeting children on the autism spectrum
• experience working in schools, preschools, and/or care and support, for example in personal assistance, short-term accommodation, daily activities, or other settings where you have cared for others
• high school education with a focus on children and leisure or care and support.

To thrive in the role, it is important that you are a persistent person who remains motivated and driven by both small and larger progress in our students. We place great importance on personal suitability.
