Your Tasks

As a university lecturer at the Department of Information Technology (IIT), you will have an exciting and varied role. The position includes research, competence development time, as well as other tasks corresponding to 30% according to the applicable working time agreement.

Your main tasks include both research and teaching. You will teach together with colleagues in the department's programs in informatics, which includes courses at both undergraduate and master's levels. At the undergraduate level, teaching mainly takes place within the Bachelor's program in System Architecture with a focus on program development. At the master's level, teaching and course development primarily focus on informatics with a focus on data-driven IT management. Teaching at the undergraduate level is mainly in Swedish, while teaching at the advanced level is primarily in English.

Examples of course content include:

• object-oriented programming in C#
• DevOps
• data visualization
• applied artificial intelligence (AI)
• program development projects
• development for web/mobile.

The department's policy is that all employees should also participate in research projects linked to our research groups. We have two research groups: InnovationLab, which focuses on studying and developing artifacts within digital innovations, and ComputerScienceLab, focusing on intelligent data analysis of large datasets. A large part of our research is directed towards data-driven digital innovation and is often externally funded and carried out in project form with several employees in collaboration with industry.

An important part of the position is to further develop the research environment, primarily through your own research, but also through supervision of doctoral students and creating applications for external research funding. Building collaboration with national and international networks is also a natural part of the work.

Your Qualifications

The following qualifications are required for the position:

• completed doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence in informatics or another relevant subject for the position's focus (e.g., computer science)
• demonstrated pedagogical skill
• good and documented knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• documented experience of relevant teaching within software development for the department
• documented experience of course responsibility and development of course materials
• scientific skill in the subject area demonstrated through scientific publication, conference participation, participation in research collaborations, and other commitments in the scientific community such as review or expert assignments
• ability to contribute to the development of the department's research in informatics.

It is meritorious to have documented experience of:

• responsibility for development work within undergraduate education
• teaching and supervision at the doctoral level
• knowledge of Python and frameworks such as .Net.
• applied artificial intelligence
• DevOps
• applying for and obtaining external research funds
• leading research in informatics
• international relations
• work experience from industry relevant to the position
• collaboration with industry and/or public administration.

A general eligibility requirement for a permanent position as a teacher is completed higher education pedagogical training equivalent to 10 weeks of full-time studies, or equivalent competence. An employee who lacks higher education pedagogical training can undergo the training during the first two years of employment.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and the ability to collaborate in teaching teams.
