There is now an opportunity to apply for a position with us at Solberga School Unit as a teacher for grades 4-6.
Solberga School Unit consists of Kode School, which is a K-2 school with about 180 students, and Tunge School, which serves grades 3-6 with about 240 students. Tunge School is located in a rural environment, providing great opportunities to utilize the outdoor environment in pedagogical activities. Kode and Tunge Schools are approximately 1.5 km apart. The schools share the same leadership team and student health services and collaborate closely with each other. Both Kode and Tunge Schools have 3 classes per grade, and each grade has a working team.
Responsibilities
You will be a classroom teacher and teach several subjects in your class, which means you need to be able to plan and carry out lessons independently. You will also collaborate closely with your working team and other colleagues at the school.
You will document students' knowledge and assign grades in grade 6. You are expected to closely monitor students' knowledge development and refer students to student health services when necessary. In your role as a classroom teacher, you will work closely with guardians.
Qualifications
You should have the following qualifications:
- Qualified teacher with a teaching license for the relevant grades.
- A good leader in the classroom with clarity in communication, goals, and results.
- Good collaborative skills with both students, guardians, and colleagues.
- Solution-focused and able to prioritize and adapt your working methods according to students' different needs and the needs of the organization.
- Ability to create structure, see opportunities in changes, and consider the best interests of the entire organization in actions and decisions.
- Being able to build relationships is important as we have a diverse group of students, and relationship-building is a crucial part of achieving successful outcomes.
Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
