For the past three years, we have had a close collaboration with Sweden's leading researchers regarding teaching development in preschool, primary school, and adult education. We are brave and test new innovative ideas such as VR in teaching. We consider movement in both new construction, development of outdoor environments, and offer movement analysis to our staff. We carry out early interventions together with social services and have a joint school social attendance team to help students with problematic absenteeism. We genuinely follow up on goal fulfillment and act on our results. We work to become skilled in trust-based leadership and have close leadership with few employees per manager.

Åkarp has five school units in grades F-9. Dalslundskolan 7-9 is one of the school units and has 245 students distributed across nine classes. We have 30 dedicated staff members at the school. The school's vision is that we strive for all students to develop good knowledge and that the teaching should be of good quality and variation. School should be safe for all students and teachers with respect for others. We also have an ongoing development work to ensure good quality in teaching.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will have a special educator as your closest colleague. You will distribute the work between you based on your respective competencies and experiences. You will work with special education for our students who need it, conduct assessments, investigations, follow-ups, and evaluations at various levels.

We are looking for someone who has experience working with students in need of special support, has good collaboration skills, and is accustomed to working in a team.

You will be part of the school's student health team and will collaborate with all professionals, such as student coordinators, counselors, special educators, school nurses, school psychologists, and career counselors. Together with the school's student health team, you will analyze data and contribute to initiatives that develop the school's work at the individual, group, and organizational levels. In the role of special teacher, you are a link between the students, teaching teachers, and student health.

The assignment includes regular tasks such as writing educational investigations, establishing action plans, and working with special support. You will also have contact with external actors as needed and maintain close dialogue with guardians.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a special education degree in language, reading, and writing, or have started the education.

You are easy to collaborate with and flexible. You work according to the school's and students' needs. You are clear in communication and confident in your role. You work both independently and closely with the principal, and you find it easy to prioritize and organize your tasks. You should have an easy time building relationships and enjoy working in a team.

We need you to be ready to wholeheartedly invest in the children/students and be flexible and attentive to both children and parents. You should be able to use a solution-focused approach and have the ability to elicit trust from students and parents. The psychosocial work environment should be based on openness, collaboration, and curiosity.
