Operational Buyer

Background

Are you an experienced Operational Buyer with a proven ability to manage supplier relationships, procurement flows, and negotiations? We are currently looking for a consultant to take on an assignment in a technology-driven industry.

This role is fully on-site, with flexibility to work from various office locations.

Work Tasks

As an Operational Buyer, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services. The position involves handling both contracted and non-contracted purchases of low complexity and managing the entire purchase order process from request to delivery and follow-up.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Procuring contracted materials and services based on project and business needs
  • Managing procurement of non-contracted, low-value, low-complexity materials and services
  • Overseeing operational purchasing activities, including RFQs, purchase orders, delivery tracking, returns, claims, and invoices
  • Monitoring supplier compliance with purchase orders and agreed terms
  • Ensuring required export documentation is provided to suppliers
  • Maintaining accurate supplier and procurement data in the ERP system (IFS)
  • Following up on and evaluating supplier performance
  • Supporting supplier development and improvement initiatives
  • Staying updated on relevant commercial and technical aspects within the supplier scope
  • Ensuring suppliers are approved according to internal procedures
  • Negotiating terms and conditions for non-contracted purchases

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • 3–7 years of relevant experience in operational procurement
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably IFS
  • Strong communication and supplier follow-up skills
  • Experience negotiating minor agreements and purchasing terms
  • High attention to detail and administrative accuracy
  • Fluency in both Swedish and English, written and spoken
