We are now looking for an Electrical Schema Designer at Saab, where you will play an important role in designing complex electrical systems for both existing and future aircraft. Responsibilities

In the role of Electrical Schema Designer, you will be part of a team of about 50 people. Approximately half work with electrical systems and the rest with various system functions in the aircraft. The team's tasks range from new design projects to various modification requests for existing aircraft such as Gripen C/D, Gripen E/F, the training aircraft T-7, as well as civil aircraft. Electrical schema design is done in Siemens Capital Harness and mechanical design is done in CATIA V5, and eventually Siemens NX. Saab is also starting a new project in 2025 to build an entirely new concept aircraft that should be in the air as early as 2027. You may be involved in this project.

As an Electrical Schema Designer, you will be responsible for drawing complex electrical systems for both existing and upcoming generations of aircraft. You will create 2D drawings and document your work continuously while adhering to requirements and regulations in your work. The electrical systems are complex, and together with your colleagues, you will ensure that four miles of electrical cable fit into small and compact aircraft. Your immediate team consists of about 10 employees. You will collaborate closely with other colleagues in the design of electrical installations, shelves, and panels for electricity as well as system installations. Together, you will ensure the entire system functions reliably, and you will help connect the electrical system with, for example, rescue systems, hydraulic systems, air systems, weapon rails, etc.

You will have the opportunity to build a broad network within Saab's organization and gain insight into many different areas of expertise, as you will collaborate extensively with other departments and jointly tackle many challenging issues.

Examples of tasks:

  • Design system and connection diagrams using Siemens Capital.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers and other departments to integrate subsystems.
  • Participate in studies to introduce new functionality in products and concepts.
  • Support production and customers with operational aircraft.

Your profile

We are looking for a positive person who wants to contribute to a good atmosphere in the workgroup and who enjoys discussing various issues with your colleagues. You are not afraid to reach out to different people within the organization to brainstorm and solve various design challenges you face. You are technically inclined and find it exciting to both deepen and broaden your technical skills within the aviation industry.

Requirements for the position:

  • University or master's degree in Electronics/Mechatronics/Machine Engineering/Design/Equivalent
  • Basic knowledge in electrical schematics/CAD programs/drawing reading/design
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Experience in similar tasks

For this position, you must undergo and be approved according to applicable security protection regulations, which may require a certain citizenship.

Desirable qualifications for the position:

  • Knowledge of Siemens Capital Harness
  • Interest in aviation
