Borlänge municipality's centrally organized student health is a wonderfully dynamic workplace characterized by quality, collaboration, flexibility, and development. Borlänge is the largest urban area in Dalarna with convenient connections to neighboring cities Falun, Säter, and Gagnef. You can also easily travel to and from cities like Hedemora, Ludvika, and Leksand via public transport.

The centrally organized student health has the mission to support the development of local student health and to strengthen the student health perspective. A large part of the work is preventive and health-promoting. The work as a whole is varied and takes place at the organizational, group, and individual levels and in collaboration with school staff, guardians, and other agencies, but of course also cross-professionally within our own operations. Collaboration with other agencies and actors is included as needed.

In the centrally organized student health, school nurses, school doctors, school psychologists, speech therapists, and special educators work towards preschool, as well as a medically responsible nurse and a medical secretary. We work from a school perspective, which is partly regulated by the Education Act and further based on health and medical care laws and their regulations. The organization is led by a unit manager but also has an assistant unit manager who will be your closest supervisor.

Even though you as a school nurse with us are placed out at the school unit, you still have proximity to your school nurse colleagues and other staff in the central student health. You will be part of a work team with other school nurses with whom you also have regular meetings. Furthermore, we work together on various development projects and meet within the framework of our category meetings. You will also receive support and assistance from our medically responsible nurse.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Your main task is to work preventively and health-promoting to support students' development towards educational goals. You conduct health visits/health conversations and vaccinations based on the basic program of the student health's medical interventions. You meet our students through planned visits and open reception both individually and in groups. You contribute your expertise to the school's systematic quality work and in the pedagogical development with an emphasis on promoting and preventive student health work. You participate in competence and method development within the student health's medical interventions (EMI) to create good conditions for equitable child and student health.

You are part of the student health team led by the principal and have close collaboration with the school doctor, school psychologist, and school social worker, and of course with other colleagues at the school. Your common goal is to create a safe environment that promotes health, safety, and learning. You have a broad network both internally and externally where you contribute to good collaboration with, among others, guardians, social services, and other care providers linked to the assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with further education as a district, pediatric, and/or school nurse. It is an advantage if you have previously worked as a school nurse.
You handle the Swedish language very well in both speech and writing.
A valid driver's license (B) is required.

Good IT skills and experience of working in the PMO journal system are advantageous.

Since the work involves health-promoting work at the organizational, group, and individual levels with a focus on children and adolescents, it is a big plus if you have experience in this area from before. We would also like you to have experience meeting children and young people from different parts of the world.
