Your New Job

As the head chef in our team, you will prepare and cook nutritious meals according to established menus and serve food to students and staff with a smile.

You will collaborate with your colleagues to continuously improve and develop the kitchen's operations. In your new role, you will also contribute to ensuring that the kitchen's routines are followed and that a high standard of hygiene and safety is maintained. You will also have the opportunity to influence young people's eating habits and health, promoting lifelong well-being.

You will work in a kitchen team where you hold a leading role.

Examples of Job Responsibilities:

• Serve delicious and well-prepared food to the school's young guests.
• Cook meals from scratch according to current guidelines for breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
• Create meals that are healthy and environmentally sustainable.
• Plan menus and order relevant goods.
• Integrate meals into both children's and students' learning and development.
• Other tasks as required in a kitchen.

Creative kitchens create culinary joy together. We work purposefully with a strong focus on food waste, student democracy, preparedness, and meal pedagogy. Every day, large quantities of food are prepared in new well-equipped kitchens for schools and preschools.

As an employee in Jönköping Municipality's food organization, you belong to a geographical area where several kitchens are included. You have a base placement in one kitchen where you usually work. When circumstances change and the situation requires it, you may need to step in at other kitchens than your base placement.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Documented training as a chef.
• Very good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
• Basic IT skills.
• A valid driver's license (B).

You have a strong interest in cooking and a passion for working with good and sustainable ingredients.

The food should be both flavorful and nutritious, with a focus on quality and sustainability. We value that you have experience cooking from scratch and adapting meals to children's specific needs.

As a person, you are an engaged team player who enjoys working together with both educators and kitchen staff to create a safe and inspiring dining environment for the children.

You are also eager to share your knowledge and joy of work and contribute to a positive and collaborative work climate.

You find it easy to follow given guidelines and working methods, while also being committed to developing the operations. You see opportunities for improvement and are willing to take initiative to continuously contribute to the development of the kitchen's work and quality.
