Personal Assistant Needed for Young Man in Donsö

We are looking for an engaged and responsible personal assistant for a 25-year-old man living in his own apartment in Donsö.

He has disabilities that require support with all aspects of his daily life, activities, and personal care.

About the Position

Shifts of 12 hours, day and evening, including every other weekend, usually from 08:00 to 20:00.

Working hours are adjusted according to the ferry schedules.

The role involves assisting with communication, which requires fluent Swedish, as you will be interpreting for him to his surroundings.

The position starts with shadowing and a temporary employment. If the collaboration works well between you, there is an opportunity for a fixed-term employment as long as the assistance assignment lasts at 75%.

GIL has been coordinating personal assistance since 1989. The cooperative has roots in the Independent Living movement, which is based on the principle that those with disabilities know best how they want to live their lives. Typically, the person entitled to assistance is the closest supervisor of the assistants, or a person with specific in-depth knowledge about the individual is appointed.
