Do you want a summer job where you make a difference every day? Where you contribute to safety, joy, and quality of life for elderly people in their daily lives? We are now looking for engaged and responsible summer substitutes for our home care groups and care homes in Svärdsjö, Enviken, Bjursås, Grycksbo, and Vika.
With us, you will work closely with people, create security, and contribute to a dignified and meaningful everyday life. This is a job where your efforts truly matter.
If you are a new substitute in care, you will receive an introductory training of 4 days before you start, so you feel secure in your work.
Job Responsibilities
What does the job entail?
The work involves supporting elderly people in their daily lives and creating a safe, dignified, and meaningful existence. The tasks are varied and tailored to the individual's needs, and you contribute to both practical help and social community:
- Personal Care: You assist with personal hygiene, dressing, meals, and medication. By meeting the care recipients with respect and attentiveness, you create security and conditions for a good quality of life. Some care recipients have significant care needs, which means that health and medical tasks are included as part of the job.
- Practical Help: You support with chores such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping to facilitate daily life. Your work contributes to ensuring that care recipients can feel independent and comfortable in their homes or at the facility. The work may also involve assisting with transfers to ensure safety and comfort in their daily lives.
- Social Support: By participating in walks, conversations, and various activities, you create a pleasant and meaningful everyday life. You work to break loneliness and strengthen the well-being of care recipients, both physically and mentally.
If you work in home care, you meet people in their own homes. You work more independently, follow a digital schedule, and move between different addresses during the day. Here, it is important that you are flexible, proactive, and confident in making your own decisions. A driver's license (B) is a requirement, and you need to be able to travel to and from the workplace according to work hours that may be early mornings or late evenings – sometimes where public transport is lacking.
In a care home, you work in a team with colleagues. You are available to the residents around the clock and have close and continuous contact. The work is more stationary and characterized by a calmer pace where you build long-term relationships, contribute to structure in everyday life, and create security through your presence and approach.
Qualifications
The role requires:
- A strong commitment to helping others and enjoying working closely with people. You are attentive and confident in meeting others, and with your positive and solution-oriented approach, you create both security and joy in everyday life. Collaboration is a given for you, and you contribute to a strong team spirit while enjoying taking personal responsibility.
- You are flexible and adapt smoothly to different situations and changing conditions. With your sense of responsibility and professionalism, you ensure that each individual receives the support they need. As a person, you are service-oriented and consider each individual's unique needs while building trusting relationships with care recipients, colleagues, and relatives.
- Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
- Good computer and mobile skills
- EU citizenship or valid residence and work permit
- Ability to travel to and from the workplace according to the work schedule
- Driver's license (B) required for work in home care
Desirable Qualifications:
- Education or experience in care, social work, or social services
- Experience with delegated health and medical tasks
- Knowledge of MI (motivational interviewing) or low-affect responses
