JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Our areas of operation:

Home Care:

In home care, you work to support our customers in their own homes. You are part of a team, but your visits to customers are usually made alone. During the day, you move many times between your customers, which is done by walking, cycling, or driving.

Care and Nursing Home:

Care and nursing homes are also called elderly homes. Here, customers live with somatic illnesses and/or dementia. Your tasks are to support and help customers throughout the day based on their needs. Together with your colleagues, you distribute the work for the day and help each other to create a good everyday life for our customers. You have your colleagues close by but often work alone with the customer.

Supported Living:

Supported living can look different; it can be individual apartments with a common room nearby, or apartments built under the same roof with shared spaces. Here, you work with customers who have some form of disability or mental health issues. You work in a team but also alone with the customer. You work supportively and motivatingly with the customer to ensure they have an active life based on their life situation and wishes.

Personal Assistance:

In personal assistance, you work in the customer's own home. For a customer to be granted personal assistance, they must have a significant need for support and help in their daily life. You work with people of all ages with varying needs. Every day you face new experiences and challenges together with your customers. Personal assistance is often a solitary job, but some customers are granted double assistance. As a personal assistant, you usually work with one or a few people who have the service, which allows you to build a close relationship with the customers. Each customer is unique with different needs, and you help the customer with all aspects of daily life.

Welfare Gävle works based on a health-promoting approach with the customer in focus. The customers you meet during your workday need help and support in their daily lives. Your tasks include care such as personal hygiene, cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, and outdoor activities based on the customer's individual needs. Your tasks are described in a plan that you follow during your workday. You are also responsible for maintaining medical and social documentation of all actions and events concerning the customer that are significant for their physical and mental well-being.

QUALIFICATIONS

As a person, you are positive and feel confident working independently and making your own decisions. Quality, response, and collaboration are the most important success factors in our common values. For you, it is natural to base your interactions on this when meeting customers, relatives, and each other.

To communicate with our customers and document, a good command of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form is a requirement. You need to have good technical skills as our work tools are digitalized. A driver's license and driving experience, as well as the ability to cycle, are required to work in home care, supported living, and personal assistance. In other operations, it is meritorious.

To work in any of our operations focused on children and youth with special needs, you must have previous experience working with children with autism or other disabilities. You must also provide a criminal record extract.

We prefer that you have a degree from the care and nursing program, ongoing care and nursing education, or another education that the employer assesses as equivalent. It is meritorious if you have previous experience in care work.

To be offered a schedule, you must be able to work at least 75% during the summer period. To work as needed, you should be available at least 50%. Since shifts are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends, you should be able to work these hours. In some operations, night or sleeping duty is also included in the schedule, while other operations have dedicated staff for night work.
