We are seeking a Senior FPGA/VHDL Developer to join our client's team in Västerås. The role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing FPGA-based systems, with an emphasis on replacing obsolete hardware components with modern FPGA solutions. This position requires deep expertise in hardware engineering and software integration, along with strong troubleshooting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the redesign of outdated hardware systems with modern FPGA implementations.

• Develop, review, and optimize VHDL code for FPGA designs, ensuring performance and functional accuracy.
• 
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, perform analysis, and implement effective solutions.
• 
  
• Troubleshoot and conduct fault-finding on complex hardware systems.
• 
  
• Participate in system integration and verification of FPGA designs to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• 
  
• Work closely with software teams to integrate hardware and software seamlessly.
• 
  
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including designs, code, test cases, and project updates.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
• 10+ years in FPGA development and VHDL programming with a strong focus on hardware engineering.
• 
  
• Demonstrated expertise in hardware fault-finding and debugging.
• 
  
• Proven ability to redesign systems by replacing obsolete hardware with modern FPGA solutions.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in system-level design and timing analysis for high-performance FPGA implementations.
• 
  
• Familiarity with communication protocols like Advant Fieldbus 100 (AF 100) (preferred but not mandatory).
• Education:
• A post-graduate degree (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields is preferred. Equivalent professional experience is also considered.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration across teams.
