Deputy Signals Protection Chief

The Fortifications Agency is seeking a Deputy Signals Protection Chief for the security department's staff. We are in a strong growth phase and to meet the development and increased scope of signals protection, we are now recruiting another Deputy Signals Protection Chief. Your daily work – strengthening Sweden's security

The Fortifications Agency is in a strong expansion phase with large investment volumes to continue developing and building properties and facilities within total defense. The security department is responsible for security protection at the Fortifications Agency. The work includes security protection analysis, physical security, information security, personnel security, incident management, signals protection, and security protection agreements. Approximately 40 employees currently work in the security department.

The security staff is being built up to streamline the security department's ability to lead, coordinate, and follow up on operations at an overarching level. The staff is responsible for the agency's signals protection and is cohesive for the department's planning and operational follow-up, process development, and task coordination.

The role of Deputy Signals Protection Chief

The role of Deputy Signals Protection Chief involves assisting the Signals Protection Chief in all of their responsibilities and duties. The Signals Protection Chief is responsible for the signals protection service within the agency by:

  • being responsible for the establishment and management of the agency's governing and supporting documents within signals protection
  • conducting training
  • conducting inventories and controls
  • managing and handling systems, materials, keys, and active cards
  • managing incidents within signals protection
  • participating in project groups

Travel within Sweden is required for the position.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with relevant higher education or university degree, or other relevant education that we assess as equivalent. You also have training as a Signals Protection Chief. You have experience working at a government agency, e.g., as a signals protection chief, deputy signals protection chief, system, key, or card administrator. You have worked with confidential and security-classified tasks and documents. You have also worked with incident management. A Class B driver's license is required.

It is advantageous if you have knowledge of the Armed Forces' regulations regarding security protection and signals protection. Training in the security field broadly is also advantageous.

It is important that you contribute with great commitment to develop signals protection and its working methods within the agency. In your role as Deputy Signals Protection Chief, there are very high demands for accuracy and creating structure. Furthermore, we see that you have analytical skills and are solution-oriented, as well as being confident as a person and in your role. You need to naturally create and maintain trusting contacts both internally and in collaboration with other authorities.

The position is a permanent employment, and a probationary period may be applied. Place of employment is Eskilstuna. Swedish citizenship is a requirement, as employment at the Fortifications Agency is security classified. This means that security checks and background checks will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act.
