About our job opening
As a specialist physician in pulmonology with us in the medical department, you will strengthen our team within the lung section and work closely with the nurses and nursing assistants in the lung clinic.
As a specialist physician, you will also have the opportunity to initiate and drive development based on knowledge and interest in consultation with the rest of the team. You will supervise resident and specialty training doctors as well as medical students.
About us
Our mission is to provide internal medicine and oncology care for the residents in our catchment area, and we do this with great and dedicated commitment. Our medical department is one of the largest areas of the hospital and has a broad operation with specialists in general internal medicine, cardiology, hematology, pulmonology, allergology, nephrology, gastroenterology, diabetes, endocrinology, and oncology. We have a significant educational mission with large parts of the medical education's internal medicine course based at SÄS. We are proud to call ourselves a university hospital unit, which signifies a quality stamp on our research and educational capacity.
The medical department is organized into four sections: Hematology/Oncology section, Pulmonology/Gastroenterology/Endocrinology section, Nephrology section, and Cardiology section. Within the sections, there are chief physicians, department heads, and unit managers who lead the development of the work. Within the department, there is an inpatient unit with 8 beds for pulmonology, as well as an associated clinic. Our outpatient care includes the lung clinic, where lung physiological examinations are also conducted, as well as allergology. We also have a consulting mission towards other departments within and outside the hospital. We have an established bronchoscopy service, including EBUS examinations.
Your profile
We are looking for someone who is a qualified specialist in pulmonology, preferably with experience in bronchoscopy and EBUS. As a person, we see that you are confident in your role as a physician and driven to develop methods to contribute to better care. Being able to work in a team while also being comfortable working independently is a requirement for the position, as is enjoying supervising both medical students and resident and specialty training doctors. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
