Social Worker at the Children's Unit in Sundbyberg
You dare to try new things and learn from experiences. Just like us.
Here at the welfare and care sector, our goal is to be a collaborative organization that works professionally and takes its starting point in the user's own reality. Our values are permeated by a user perspective and a child perspective based on a systems theory foundation.
The Children's Unit is a unit within the authority department. The unit has engaged and skilled employees who help each other in daily work. The unit is divided into two groups with eight social workers in each group. Each group has good support from its group leader who leads and distributes the work. The target group is children aged 0-13 and their families/networks. We work with investigations and follow-ups of interventions according to the Social Services Act (SoL), the Act on Special Provisions concerning the Care of Young People (LVU), and the Act on the Placement of Children in Protected Housing (LBSB). Our focus is to conduct good social work. For us within the Children's Unit, this means creating investigation processes that are beneficial for the families' change work. When there is a need for interventions, support and treatment are offered at home as far as possible, and we emphasize network work.
We are now looking for someone who wants to take on the challenge of working as a social worker with children and their families and being involved in our development work and the implementation of a new social services law.
Your tasks include investigating, documenting, assessing, making decisions, and following up on interventions according to current legislation. The work involves conversations and collaboration with children, their families, and external actors such as health care, schools, and police. You will also work closely with colleagues within the sector. The guiding principles in the work are current legislation and regulations in the area. You will also be involved in the quality and development work of the organization.
We want you to be a qualified social worker and have experience in authority exercise within the child and/or youth area. We want you to have training and experience in working according to BBiC. You are responsible and have good collaboration skills. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and maturity. You need to be attentive and, in stressful situations, it is important that you can maintain a professional demeanor and attitude. You are structured and enjoy seeking information to answer various questions. It is also important that you have an interest in learning more and developing in the field. Since documentation is an important part of the work, you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language as well as good administrative skills.
We offer you a creative workplace with opportunities for professional development. Your introduction program will be followed up by the department's development leader, and relevant training for your assignment is included. You will also receive external supervision. The city of Sundbyberg is committed to a good working environment and offers wellness grants and the opportunity to exchange vacation pay for extra days off. We are located in modern premises in Sundbyberg City Hall in Hallonbergen. There is also the possibility to work from home depending on the current work situation.
The position is a permanent full-time employment. Start date according to agreement.
Please apply by April 15, 2025. The selection process is ongoing during the application period. We do not accept applications via email.
