The opportunities for children and youth to develop and thrive are of great importance for both individuals and society. The organized leisure activities for these groups thus constitute an important part of the municipality's work to create a safe and pleasant environment for all its residents in Nykvarn. The goal is, among other things, to offer a wide range of open activities, but also collaborations with organized activities and to be engaged in creating groups, courses, workshops, projects, exchanges, and events in both our own facilities and external locations. We are looking for a leisure leader with a burning interest in youth and their development. We offer you a fun and varied position where you, together with colleagues, can make an impact and make a difference.

Job Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include: collaborating with actors such as schools, social services, associations, and organizations to create a varied and engaging activity. Participate in the planning of holiday programs and activities. You will be part of an engaged team that plans, analyzes, and develops leisure activities together.

To thrive in the role, you need to be secure and stable, as well as have good social skills. In the role, you also need to be able to set clear boundaries. You enjoy working in a group, and you are also used to taking responsibility for your workday to best plan and complete your, the team's, and ultimately the youth's tasks and activities. The needs of the organization and the youth are always in focus. We would like you to be a person who is creative and has a great initiative.

Additional Information

Afternoon and evening work. Weekend work may occur.

A criminal record extract must be presented before employment.

Nykvarn Municipality is a Finnish administrative area, and we consider it an advantage if you speak Finnish.

Qualifications

We want our youth, with support from leisure leaders, to produce their and other youth's leisure and be good role models. You create a safe environment for all youth in grades 6-9, where they want to spend their leisure after school. You support and help the youth to drive their own ideas and develop their creativity.

We are looking for you who:

• Are activity-driven and pedagogical with leisure leader training or other relevant education in the field/ equivalent post-secondary education that the employer considers equivalent.
• Have experience working with children and youth and good knowledge of youth culture, as well as being able to independently plan and implement activities.
• Have knowledge of creating meaningful activities in collaboration with children and youth
• Have knowledge of working with and for participation and influence for youth

You have good collaboration skills, work in a structured way, and are empathetic. You have a good ability to independently organize, plan, and implement your assignment. You are used to setting up your work and making decisions independently. You are secure in yourself and have a clear pedagogical leadership that creates a developing and fun environment for young people.

Meritorious:

• Experience in youth work, participation processes with youth influence, and project management.
• Good knowledge of working with youth councils and creating participation among youth
• Experience working with children and youth with disabilities.
• Experience working with children and youth who identify as HBTQIA+
