JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you looking for an important job where you have the chance to make a real difference for others? The Guardianship Unit is expanding and we are now looking for three new guardians to join our wonderful team!

The Guardianship Unit's activities are directed towards adult Gothenburg residents and residents of surrounding municipalities who need guardians with special competence. The operations are governed by the Parental Code with decisions made in the District Court. The unit consists of a unit manager, a senior guardian, 17 guardians, and an administrative guardian who will be your colleagues. The unit also has development leaders and administrators.

The Guardianship Unit works on behalf of the Guardianship Authority in Gothenburg and Guardians in collaboration (ÖFS), which is responsible for providing guardians to individuals with severe mental disabilities, other serious illnesses, substance abuse, and other severe social problems, sometimes in combination. The Guardianship Unit steps in when it is difficult for a private guardian to support the individual. We assist individuals with financial, legal, and social issues. We safeguard the individual's rights, manage property, and care for the person. The individual's (ward's) needs are at the center, and working with clear goals and individual follow-ups is an important part of the guardian's development work.

As a guardian employed in the Guardianship Unit, you should contribute to an increased quality of life for the individual without taking away their personal responsibility. In your role, you collaborate with professional networks and, if possible, with the individual's relatives.

In your role as a guardian, your daily work will include having contact with wards and their networks, providing advice on personal matters, safeguarding the right to care and support, and applying for various services/assistance as needed. The work also includes representing the wards before authorities and courts, structuring the wards' finances, documentation, and financial reporting.

We offer you a fun and challenging job among engaged staff in pleasant premises on Stora Badhusgatan with a beautiful view of the river!

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying should have a university degree in social work, economics, behavioral science, law, or another suitable university degree that the employer deems equivalent. You also need to have several years of experience and a genuine interest in working with the target group (people with mental disabilities, often in combination with substance abuse and other serious social problems).

You should also have good knowledge of community services such as healthcare, psychiatry, and social services. You need to have good legal knowledge, primarily related to the Act on Support and Service (LSS) and the Social Services Act (SoL). In addition, you need knowledge and experience in administration and finance. You also need experience working with people who have problematic/complex life situations, and you should have good technical skills/computer proficiency.

If you have previously held positions as a guardian or trustee, it is an advantage. It is also advantageous for the position if you have a B driver's license and have completed training to become a guardian.

As a person, your approach should be characterized by trust in the ward's willingness to be involved and responsible for their own social situation. You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role, where you start from everyone's equal value and create a good atmosphere in meetings with people. You have an open and positive attitude as you have the ward's needs as the starting point for your actions.

You are comfortable in social contact areas, both informal and formal. You stand by decisions made and can convey uncomfortable messages when necessary.

You are stable, secure, and work effectively under stress. You can balance different demands and remain calm in difficult situations. You distinguish between the issue and the person and can make well-founded decisions under time pressure.

You set clear goals and plan activities in good time. You use time efficiently and work systematically, organized, and methodically. You ensure that work is completed and follow up on results.

Finally, you may also need to withstand pressure from others, set boundaries, and say no when necessary based on your area of responsibility. From this, you need to be clear in your professional role and act professionally in situations where others question you or make unreasonable demands.

Welcome to submit your application!

OTHER

Selection and interviews will be conducted continuously during the recruitment process.

The position will be filled subject to the necessary decisions being made.

In this recruitment, you will be asked to answer a number of questions where you describe your experience and knowledge in the field instead of sending a personal letter.
